HOW TO FIND OUR THERMAL SOARING SITE ON AT FISH MEADOW,
UPTON upon SEVERN, WORCESTERSHIRE.
NOTE: ACCESS IS RESTRICTED TO MEMBERS OF THE MSA AND THEIR GUESTS.
Fish Meadow is at Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire. Upton is situated on the banks
of the River Severn and lies mid-way between the towns of Tewkesbury and Malvern.
It is close to Exit 1 on the M50 motorway.
On leaving the M50 at Exit 1, take the A38 north for three miles, in the direction
of Worcester, to the staggered junction with the A4104 at Bluebell Farm and signed to
Upton upon Severn.
Turn left on to the A4104. In one mile you gain access to the flying field via a
"slip-road" from the A4104.
When approaching from the East, the slip road is on your left and about 100 yards
before you reach the bridge over the River Severn and just a few yards past the
entrance to the Upton Marina.
The slip road runs parallel to and beside the main road towards the bridge and the
river bank. Turn right just before the river bank and drive slowly through a tunnel,
under the A4104, which leads via an iron gate, with a notice board on it, on to
Fish Meadow flying field. Access by vehicle through this tunnel is now controlled by
a locked barrier. The combination of the lock is only made known to members.
PLEASE LOCK THE BARRIER IN THE UP POSITION AND SHUT THE GATE AFTER YOU.
Please drive round the edges of the field, not across the centre.
